I’m not a gamer, so I don’t know what this means but Love Systems instructor Future apparently made the Penny Arcade front page. Apparently the guys who run the site, Tycho and Gabe, had a lively debate about the merits of Love Systems and whether it works or not. It turns out that Future knows one of the guys at the site and e-mailed him to correct him and identify himself and loudly proclaiming his geek status:

“ I am a nerd. I can run D&D 1st, 2nd, or 3rd from memory with very little help, and I have a Planescape: Torment tattoo proudly on my right arm. Just TALKING about Shadowrun gets my excited. I have an encyclopedic knowledge of Marvel and DC comics, and I have strong feelings about what Batman would or would NOT do in any given situation. I built my computer, and I’m going to build my next one, to say nothing of the hundreds of servers I built in the Marines.”

Ha, ha, ha! What the Hell is Planescape: Torment?

Anyway, a lot of you guys probably know I’ve been teaching with Future recently (most recently at Workshops in Orlando and Sydney). I’ve got to tell you, he has some of the best game I’ve seen. I’ve witnessed him doing wild things – and this from the guy who, at parties, would sit in the corner reading a book rather than socialise!

Can’t wait to hang out with him and the rest of the gang again at the Superconference in Vegas!
