Famous Ladies’ Men: Arnold Schwarzenegger

Hey guys,

From time to time I’m going to discuss famous ladies men, either in short essays or footage-analysis formats (as below). I’d love to hear from you guys about the ‘famous ladies’ men’ that you’ve learned from – drop a comment below with suggestions as to who you’d like me to analyse next!

Check out this great clip of Arnold Scwarzenegger being interviewed in 1978. He demonstrates excellent frame, self-belief and harnessed passion – no wonder he was renowned as a lady’s man!

Analysis:

- In the opening clip, he lays out his credentials and his goals with charm, charisma and confidence.
- Arnold shows an awareness of the ’spectrum’ of women, something we’ve taught at Love Systems for years: some women will find you very attractive at once, some will find you unattractive at once, most/others will be somewhere in the middle. Their attraction will rely more upon our behaviours and social status.
- Arnold responds to aggressive questioning at 2:30 (the interviewer calls his physique grotesque).
- Arnold discusses his passion and purpose at 4:10
- Arnold expresses how to harness the ego for personal growth in 4:50. One can draw parallels with Jungian ideas about embracing the shadow rather than suppressing it.

And finally, Arnold (below) demonstrates the classic ‘Accept and enlarge!’ frame control tactic for handling shit tests:

Enjoy!

This is an exceptional idea. I find myself analyzing actors/celebrities/naturals etc. constantly, so I think this kind of study is fascinating.

Do you want to include fictional characters? For example, I have a list of the instances where Daniel Craig in Casino Royale acts out important concepts (i.e. frame control, lots of inner game, teasing, etc.).

Hey Eric,

Yes, great examples of fictional characters would also be great. Would be really interested to see your ideas on Casino Royale – can you post some in the comment box?

great footage of a natural at work. fascinating to see the behavior and the great inner game everything is coming from. self amusing, relaxed, calm and with his little smirk every now and then. arnold is just the män for many reasons.

Do the character Chuck Bass from Gossip Girl. Great body language and tonality in my opinion.

Keychain,

I really have a hard time identifying with this video. Lets just face facts here – Arnold is a guy with many natural advantages – height, incredible build (yes I know he lifted to get there but he has the basic stature to be able to do so – I do not) and these help him tremendously. As a shorter and skinnier guy, I do not have the natural advantages that say Arnold has. So it is a harder road for me. Case in point – Love Systems has on their website that it is “the proven system to “get the girl.” social dynamics and female psychology, not looks or money.” Well if that is the case, then why use a guy with natural advantages as an example?

If not, then that kind of defeats the point of Love Systems – don’ t you think?

Let me know

@Gabriel

Yes, absolutely fascinating isn’t it! I’m really looking forward to analysing some more of these types of characters.

I’ve noticed that (successful) celebrities tend to have a rock-hard frame when communicating. I have a few ideas as to why this may be…i’ll put them into an article when fully formed (in fact, this series of analyses is part of my figuring it out).

Thanks for the comments guys!

Here’s what I like from Casino Royale:

Scene: Upon arriving in the Bahamas towards the beginning of the movie, Bond checks into the hotel and has a brief conversation with the woman behind the desk.

Note: Holds eye contact; good voice tone and speaking pace; perfect body language (no fidgeting, tension, or looking down).

Scene: On beach immediately following the check-in scene

Note: Holds eye contact until woman on beach looks away

Scene: The valet pulls up the Aston Martin Bond just won from Dimitri playing poker and Dimitri’s woman unknowingly goes to get in it.

Bond: Can I give you a lift home?
Woman: That would really send him over the edge. I’m afraid I’m not that cruel (turns to leave)
Bond: Well perhaps you’re just out of practice. (Smiles and holds eye contact. Notice her shock when it lands)
Woman: (pause, then laughing) Perhaps.
Bond: What about a drink at my place?
Woman: Your place… Is it close?
Bond: Very (holds eye contact).

Scene: Upon arriving in Montenegro, Bond meets Vesper from the Treasury on a train.

Note: Teasing (Vesper eh? I hope you gave your parents hell for that); good banter exchange; cold reads; and most importantly: the inner game evidenced by how he reacts to her ripping on him, rejecting him, and walking away. His expression after she leaves is pure bemusement.

Scene: Bond and Vesper in the car immediately following the train scene.

Note: Everything. Maintains his frame and uses role playing and teasing to get a reaction. Good demonstration of building attraction with push/pull:

Bond: (Flirts with her regarding their hotel room arrangements)
Vesper: Plays hard to get a bit too much, and then: “I’m not going to have a problem with you, am I?
Bond: No. Don’t worry, you’re not my type. (Said as he removes all his attention from her and looks out window)
Vesper: Smart?
Bond (still looking away): Single.”

@Eric

Great stuff man! Bond’s definitely on my lists of people to write an article on – love your insights!

Hi Keychain, Thanks for the footage and comments… really interesting. In my work on body language and attraction I have discussed many times about the muscle tone of ‘Naturals’ and how guys who have no trouble with women have very little tension held in their connective tissue… Arnold was the classic example of this.
